Who Conducts the OET Exam? 

The OET exam is conducted by CBLA (Cambridge Boxhill Language Assessment), a joint venture between Cambridge English and Boxhill Institute. 

OET was originally designed by Professor Tim McNamara in the late 1980s. He developed it under the guidance of the Australian National Office for Overseas Skills Recognition (NOOSR) which was also the first conducting body of the OET exam. Over the years, OET went through several research and developments under the University of Melbourne’s Language Testing Research Centre and Cambridge Assessment English to keep pace with the current trends. OET has been conducted and owned by Cambridge Boxhill Language Assessment Trust (CBLA) since 2013.
